About me

Alison Herbert: My work centers around using art and its positive effects on a person’s emotional health and well-being. I believe that by using creativity as a tool to explore, express and manage emotions it can help individuals understand past and present problems acting as a curative power promoting and empowering them in their lives. As a process artist I use a variety of techniques and media such as drawing, painting, small sculptural pieces, textual, handmade and self-published books. My artwork is a combination of my thoughts and life experiences, reactions to complex and conflicting issues I am presented with in therapy mixed with fantasy and reality. The artwork and medium allow me space to process and organise my thoughts.
